Kovalam Beach isn’t just one destination—it’s a blend of three unique beaches, each with its own charm and vibe. During my visit to this beautiful coastal town in Kerala, I had the chance to explore the beaches in Kovalam: The Light House Beach, Crescent Beach, and Hawath Beach. Each one left a lasting impression, offering a mix of tranquility, beauty, and vibrant energy. Here’s my experience exploring these incredible shores.
The Light House Beach
The first stop on my journey was The Light House Beach, one of the most famous beaches in Kovalam, and honestly, it lived up to all the hype. The red-and-white striped lighthouse perched on the Kuramkal Hills immediately caught my attention. It’s not just a landmark but also a symbol of the beach’s peaceful charm. As I walked along the golden sands, I couldn’t help but admire the way the waves gently kissed the shore. But the real magic happened at night—when the light from the towering structure lit up the beach, creating a mesmerizing view. It was the perfect spot to take in the serene vibe of Kovalam and let time stand still for a while.
Crescent Beach
Next up was Crescent Beach, also known as Samundra Beach. If you’re someone who loves peace and quiet (like I do), this beach is a dream come true. Among the beaches in Kovalam, this one stood out for its tranquil atmosphere. The crescent-shaped shoreline and the sound of waves touching the rocks made it feel like nature was composing its own melody. I spent a lot of time here just walking along the shore and soaking in the calming vibes. Crescent Beach might not be as popular as the other beaches in Kovalam, but that’s what makes it so special—it feels like your own private slice of paradise.
Hawath Beach
Finally, I made my way to Hawath Beach, also known as Hawa Beach. This beach is all about its vibrant blue waters and calm surroundings. Among the beaches in Kovalam, it’s the perfect place to relax in the evening while watching the waves roll in. What intrigued me the most about this beach was its history—it was once known for being a topless beach, attracting a unique crowd. While times have changed, the beach hasn’t lost its charm. Watching the sunset here, with the cool breeze brushing against my face, was the perfect way to end my journey through Kovalam.
Kovalam’s trio of beaches truly offers something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for iconic landmarks, serene walks, or vibrant waters, the beaches in Kovalam have it all. For me, each one added a special chapter to my travel story, and I can’t wait to return to this coastal paradise.
