During our journey through the stunning coastal state of Kerala, we had the pleasure of visiting some of its most iconic beaches. Our adventure began at the serene Alleppey Beach, known for its golden sands and mesmerizing sunsets. From there, we explored the tranquil Kollam Beach, a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. Finally, we made our way to the world-famous Kovalam Beach, with its picturesque crescent-shaped coastline and lively atmosphere. Each beach offered a unique experience, leaving us with unforgettable memories of Kerala’s incredible shoreline.

Alleppey Beach: The Venice of the East
Our adventure began at the serene Alleppey Beach, locally known as Alappuzha. This stunning beach, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the East,’ is famous for its backwaters and iconic houseboats. Kerala feels incomplete without a houseboat cruise, and Alleppey is the perfect place to experience it. Despite being just eight years old, this beach has become a favorite picnic spot for families. The golden sands and tranquil backwaters create a setting that feels straight out of a dream.
Kollam Beach: A Coastal Gem
Next on our journey was Kollam Beach, a serene retreat where the Ashtamudi Lake meets the Arabian Sea. Known locally as Mahatma Gandhi Beach, this spot is surrounded by fishing settlements, giving it a lively yet peaceful atmosphere. The Tangasseri breakwater adds a unique charm, making it an inviting place to spend a quiet afternoon. If you’re looking to explore Kerala’s southern backwaters, Kollam Beach is the perfect starting point.
Kovalam Beach: The Paradise of South India
Kovalam Beach is known as the ‘Paradise of South India,’ and it truly lives up to the name. Situated in Thiruvananthapuram along the Arabian Sea, this beach is one of the most popular in Kerala. With its shallow waters and low tides, it’s the perfect spot for a peaceful swim or a relaxing day under the sun.
What makes Kovalam so special is the combination of natural beauty and wellness. The beach is home to a variety of Ayurvedic salons, healing centers, and spa resorts offering traditional Ayurvedic treatments. It’s the ideal place for tourists seeking to unwind and rejuvenate.
For those who love adventure, the water sports at Kovalam are a must-try! From surfing to parasailing, the thrill of riding the waves is one of the best things about this beach. But even if you prefer to relax, Kovalam has something to offer. Watching the golden sun-rays at dusk while enjoying a peaceful sunbath is simply magical. The evening views here are absolutely stunning, leaving you in awe of the beauty that surrounds you.
